      Splitting quick, they wed on a dark, moonless night in the balmy, June air. Beating hearts and rushing adrenaline, the two silhouettes stood beneath the alter, lips locked in a second of heated passion before they fled,
Into the night, leaving the third beating heart,

       Slowly, it bled.


       The stain of unclaimed blood,
         unclaimed love,
Forever the cool sand of that beach will be locked away, red in the thin hourglass of her heart. He meant to keep her unaware, of her other,
                                                                 kinder lover,
So now, he is dead, she is wed, all with a deep, sickening, sour suspicion that she made the wrong choice…
That her heart somehow lied, to her mind…



       His body, she saw, lifeless and cold, blood already drained from his once pinkened skin. A murder upon her lover, locking her with the one untrue, locked with a man whose hand held hers, with the cold, malevolent dagger, whispering softly in her ear,

       “Yes, it is okay, he could have hurt you.
         Yes, it is okay… it’s okay… this is what you want.”



But it wasn’t what she wanted.


Now running upon the same sands of glass, piercing her heart as her feet crush down upon the grains, she grieves. Hot crystalline tears glaze over her eyes, blurring her vision, she falls. She falls, she falls, from the earth to the sea, to be forever locked in the ocean of her sins, her heart…
       To join the one killed, she leaves  the iron arms of a cold, emotionless man, leaves him to grieve alone for the loss of two, pure souls.
